OUR FARM.

The story of Argyll Farm dates to the early 1800’s. A story about family and farming.

HISTORY OF ARGYLL FARM

1824

James McLaughlin and his family came to Canada from Argyllshire, Scotland with nothing more than a shilling to their names. His family found their way to Bolton, where they originally built a two-room log cabin.

1880

By 1880, the main residence, the red brick house you see today, was built with bricks transported by ox cart from Stanstead East.

ARGYLL

Wanting to pay homage to their roots, James Jr and his wife created Argyll Dairy Farm. The farm was famous for their Longhorn Ayshires. For over thirty years, they created award-winning butter with the milk from their dairy farm, winning tons of competitions in the area.
